Our Farm’s Story
The story behind Timber River Eco Farms began in 1993 when Pirmin Kummer and his family immigrated to Canada from Germany.
Our Farm History
Pirmin Kummer spent his adult years in Germany studying agriculture and working on various farms. When the opportunity arose to move to New Brunswick to run a small local potato farm Pirmin jumped at the chance. In 1993 Pirmin along with his wife Katrin and young son Jonathan made the move across the Atlantic Ocean to rural New Brunswick.
Over the last 28 years, Pirmin has built the farm into what it is today. He always prioritizes quality, environmental impact, and innovation to produce the Eco Spud potatoes that Atlantic Canadians have come to love.
Our Farm Today
In the fall of 2020, Pirmin’s eldest son Jonathan made the decision to return to New Brunswick to help his father continue to grow the farm. Jonathan brings his own perspective and modern take to farming and business which will help him continue to build upon the great produce for future years to come!
